Hubris is thinking we’re the exception, even as our lives unravel. A night of heavy drinking is called a good time; change the substance and suddenly the person is the problem. We all deal with loss, fear and the need to escape, even if we cope differently. These pieces give us a way to laugh at those shared contradictions instead of making each other feel ashamed.
